These are my very best friends. We are close because we share so much that is common and because we just plain need each other. That common need comes from the need to just be me, ourselves.

I just got back from our annual clergy spouses retreat in which i got to spend some away time with my friends. We had such a great time. From the time we got in the car to ride together to the time we left in the car to ride back, we laughed.

When we arrived, we could immediately feel the ‘awww’. When we walked into the meeting room, we immediately felt the joy of seeing the rest of our group; spouses from all over our conference.

Friday evening we just enjoyed each others company, sang together, ate together, worshiped together and played games. Saturday started off with a wonderful breakfast, more togetherness throughout the afternoon and out to eat for dinner to a Cajun restaurant that evening. Oh my did we eat! Afterwards my bestest friends gathered in one of our rooms and played a game, ‘Beyond Balderdash’. If you haven’t played this game, you should. We laughed until our stomachs hurt.

Now, it is back to reality. I don’t mind because my reality is awesome! I love my life. God has poured out His blessings in abundance. He has given me a man easy to love, 3 great kids, who after a few bumps, are on the right track to a good life. 3 awesome grand girls with another on the way and an extended family that is in this small community that we have come to love very much. They are a precious people who are just trying to live a right life, a godly life. And we all know how we need each other in order to do that. Speaking of which, I have a class to study for.
God Bless!
Tracie
