This would be us! Rick and Tracie completely relaxed, at ease and without a care in the world other than the one that is taking the picture, our 4 year old grandgirl. We have 4 grandgirls, all different in their personalities, all beautiful and everyone of them has our heart in the palm of their hands.

Rick is known to his family as Rick, pop and papa. He is known to others as Pastor Rick. There is no distinction however in Rick, no matter what the name, as the man God has called him to be.

Rick loves to read, mostly he reads anything, but he loves history, current events and of course anything that will further his knowledge of the things of God, the Bible, his ability to run a church affectively, etc. He has a great concern of our world, its resources, and is actively pursuing recycling actions and knowledge. Occasionally he will read fiction just to be reading for no reason but to escape reality. (A normal thing we all do) He also loves to garden; vegetables, fruits, herbs mostly. This past spring he grew some great tomatoes, carrots, peppers, pumpkins, watermelons and Cantaloupe; best watermelon I ever had. I’m a huge watermelon fan. This fall he is trying his hand at lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and other things i can’t remember. Rick has been researching ways to harvest rainwater and currently is doing so with materials recycled from our garage and kitchen areas.

Tracie…that would be me…likes puzzles, mostly jigsaw but in the past I worked a lot of crosswords. I plan to pick that up again because I believe it keeps the mind in shape; like an exercise for the mind. I also enjoy reading, but mostly i read fiction, mystery usually. I also enjoy working on the website. I love my job! I work right here at home in front of my computer, most days. I am the customer manager for StepbyStepFundraising.com. I’m learning a lot about the fundraising aspect of business, marketing, promotion and how to deal with the public which isn’t so new to me because I was a nurse for a good 15 years before I had to retire from that career because of illness. I have fibromyalgia, therefore am unable to do a lot of physical work. I loved nursing and miss it to this day. My interest in recycling was spurned from Rick’s interest, along with a realization of all that is wasted. I just finally made the decision that I would not be a waster anymore.

Rick and I love life, we love each other, enjoy an awesome relationship, and we love our Lord! God is our rock, He is our father, He is our greatest love. Rick and I love living life together, we love doing everything together and rarely do anything apart. Of course, our jobs and the directions they take us are different, but that is just life. Actually we do a lot of working together also because of Rick’s pastoral duties requiring a wife to be at his side. I don’t suppose it is required but it certainly is what feels right and what we believe is right. It is the call we had together, from God. We love to travel, but haven’t gotten the opportunity to do much of that just yet. But we will.

As you will quickly realize, we love our family. Our children, our grandchildren, our parents and siblings and all others that comprise a family; we love them!

We started this website back in the year 2000 under the name, ‘Christ2gather.com’. As the internet began to change, we changed the name to ‘Davisduo.com’ and now today we are using ‘The DavisDuo Dwelling.

When i first started the website, in 2000, i did so as an outlet for myself. I was ill, stuck at home, with no way to express anything.  I couldn’t share the love of God that I had so needed to do. I couldn’t continue those areas at church that i had involved myself in and i missed it terribly. I also couldn’t work, couldn’t even take care of my family as i needed, as they needed me to. So i created an outlet for myself. It was a way that said I didn’t have to give up my life, i just needed to alter it a bit. I never was one to give up on myself, except for one time due to an overwhelming depression. But i even conquered that, well, with God it was conquered.

So anyway, you will begin to see a lot of old pages in the near future as well as new ones. I will share more about ourselves, our ministries, our grandchildren and family on some new categories i plan to create.

Nana’s Nest, will act as a grandparents bragbook; Sunday Spouse will be a place for spouses of ministers to go and share; and we will maintain seperate blogs. So please come back often. Better yet, subscribe and you will be notified by email when i post something new. If you have something to share, register and we’ll go from there, together, down life’s paths.
